PARK HYUN JOO

South-Korea

Light is a of prime importance in Hyun Joo Park’s images. The shadows resulting from the installation of the boxlike pieces on white walls indeed create unexpected secondary patterns. By keeping her volumes to the simplest possible geometric forms, Park engages in the interplay, not only of solid and void, but also in two and three dimensional spaces. Her work particularly echoes Victor Vasarely’s kinetic art.
